Jeshi is set to make a bold return with his new mixtape, Headrush, arriving on October 26th. The project marks a significant evolution for the artist, as he actively taps into club culture to infuse his signature introspective songwriting with the visceral, heady energy of after-hours electronics.
Scheduled for release via Select Discs and Partisan Records, the 10-track project promises a collaborative atmosphere, featuring contributions from Fredwave, Oscar Farrell, Ineffekt, and more. For Jeshi, the project is a reflection of his formative years and a desire to synthesize his disparate musical influences.
“I’d go from Walthamstow to Essex and it felt like I’d been teleported into another world,” Jeshi explains. “The over-the-topness of the clubs felt so exciting to my 17-year-old brain. There was a freedom then where you didn’t need to know the right records or be part of the right scene.”
He continues, “Dance music has always been one of my biggest inspirations but I always felt like an outsider to that world. I was DJing at friends’ parties a lot but wanted to bridge these two loves of mine and create a space between them. To make songs and put my life into them the same way I always had, but then be able to play them out straight away in rooms full of people. I love the immediateness of it.”
The announcement follows the release of his latest single, ‘linea rossa’, which features CAMEO BLUSH and is available now.
