Lil Baby is officially in album mode, and he is kicking things off with his new Pharrell-produced single, “Dead Fresh.” The Atlanta rapper confirmed that a new album is on the way via a video posted to his TikTok page on Thursday (July 16).
“Album time,” he stated while panning across a room that appeared to be a meeting with his team and label representatives. “This muthaf**ka getting steady.”
Shortly after the announcement, Baby released the project’s lead single, “Dead Fresh.” The track was first teased by Pharrell during the Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring-Summer 2027 show in Paris this past June. That showcase also featured other notable collaborations from the producer, including “Haavin” with Quavo and “Simulation” with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
What to Expect From the Upcoming LP
According to updates shared on his Instagram Story, fans can expect a golf-inspired music video for “Dead Fresh,” directed by Kid Art, to arrive on Monday (July 20). While the title of the project remains under wraps, it will serve as the fifth solo studio album for the artist. It follows the January 2025 release of WHAM, which featured a star-studded lineup including Young Thug, Future, GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Rod Wave, Travis Scott, and 21 Savage.
WHAM proved to be a massive success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 140,000 equivalent units moved in its first week. That achievement marked a significant milestone, as it solidified the rapper’s streak of four consecutive No. 1 debuts on the chart.
