Ilja Alexander crafts dreamy pop music with an underground streak, something marked by real originality.
Constantly creating, it took a period of introversion two years ago to create a shift in the way he looks at music, resulting in some bold, brave new material.
Material like new single ‘Someday’. It’s a song that owes a debt to that decision, a sign of IIja becoming more in tune with his emotions and his surroundings.
Out now, it’s a finely honed piece of indie pop, one that allows conduits of outside influence to enter into his work.
We’re able to showcase the full video for ‘Someday’, and it picks up even further on those influences. IIja comments:
“Two years ago, I realised I had always been greatly disconnected from my emotions and emotional concepts in general. Since then I have pushed myself to better connect to my emotions and as a result, my interests began to change, one by one, among them my newly acquired interests in jazz dance and musical theatre.”
“I instructed the director of the music video to take me out my comfort zone in front of the camera, presenting the viewer with powerful emotions and movement, taking the viewer in my mind to dreams of time spent with a girl, interchanging with scenes of the real world where I’m alone at the streets, dreaming to meet my dream girl someday.”
Tune in now.
