Luvcat has shared her provocative video for new single ‘Lipstick’. Out now, the single is part of her irresistible rise, with a flurry of dark-pop sizzlers going viral on social media. Luvcat has notched up 25 million streams across just four singles — and ‘Lipstick’ is only going to send that number even higher.
A self-proclaimed song “about love and kink”, ‘Lipstick’ toys with notions of desire, flipping expectations to ask — who is really in control here?
She comments: ‘Lipstick’ is a song about love and kink. The desire to please and feel like a little doll to be played with but shown tenderness and devotion in equal measure. It came from meeting a man who called me ‘doll’…
Directed by Luvcat herself and Ollie Bradley-Baker, the video for ‘Lipstick’ builds into a cinematic extravaganza, with the Liverpool-riser taking the central ‘doll’ role.
Luvcat says:
The music video was inspired by my favourite scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang “Doll on a Music Box”. I used to dress up as her as a kid… a wind up doll come to life to terrorize the town. Some things never change I guess.
Tune in now.
