The iconic baby blue lowrider that served as a centerpiece in Nipsey Hussle‘s memorable collaboration with DJ Khaled, the hit single “Higher,” is officially heading to auction. Industry experts anticipate the vehicle will fetch between $175,000 and $225,000, marking a significant moment for fans and collectors of hip-hop memorabilia.

According to a listing on Mecum Auctions, the late rapper’s custom 1959 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe is scheduled to go under the hammer this Friday, August 14, as a highlight of the Monterey Car Week 2026 event in Monterey, California. This Nipsey Hussle lowrider remains a powerful symbol of the late artist’s aesthetic and his deep connection to West Coast car culture.

The vehicle is a masterclass in classic automotive customization, featuring a striking baby blue exterior paired with a matching tri-tone blue interior. It is equipped with Dayton wire wheels and whitewall tires, staying true to the traditional lowrider style. Under the hood, the car boasts a 283 cubic-inch V8 engine paired with a Turbo Hydramatic 350 automatic transmission. Most notably, the Impala features a custom hydraulic suspension system, allowing it to perform the signature “dancing” motion that has made the lowrider community world-famous.

The Impala gained global recognition after its appearance in the 2019 “Higher” music video, which also featured John Legend. The track holds a special place in music history, as it earned the late Nipsey Hussle his first of two Grammy Awards, winning for Best Melodic Rap Performance at the 2020 ceremony. Beyond its critical acclaim, the song achieved Gold status from the RIAA and received a nomination for Best Hip-Hop at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

As fans prepare for the auction, the legacy of the “Marathon” rapper continues to expand. His posthumous collaborative album with Bino Rideaux, titled Prolific, is slated for release on digital streaming platforms on August 14, ensuring that his creative output continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
