21 Savage & Metro Boomin Pay Tribute To The Late King Von During 'Fallon' Performance

21 Savage and Metro Boomin were the musical guests on Thursday’s (November 12) episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where they performed a special quarantine edition of “Runnin” and “Mr Right Now” (minus Drake) from their latest collaborative album Savage Mode 2.

Ahead of the duo’s performance, they paid tribute to the late King Von, who was shot and killed outside of an Atlanta hookah bar earlier this month.

“Long live King Von,” 21 said right before the music began. “The world lost a legend.”

An outpouring of “RIP” posts erupted on social media the day Von was killed and 21 was among the many expressing their shock on Instagram.

“y u ain’t book da studio yet man always bull shittin,” he wrote alongside a photo of the late Chicago rapper. “only n-gga come to my party in regular clothes. Dam gang dis shit ain’t right.”

Von was one of five people shot outside of the Monaco Hookah Lounge on Friday (November 6). A day after the shooting, investigators announced they’d charged 22-year-old Timothy Leeks with Von’s murder. Leeks was also injured in the shooting and was being treated at Grady Hospital when he was arrested.

King Von Reportedly Dead At 26 Following Atlanta Shooting

Von’s death kicked off a disturbing string of shootings in the rap community. Only five days later, Dallas artist Mo3 was gunned down while driving on I-35.

Boosie Badazz, who’d signed Mo3 to his BadAzz Music Syndicate label and released the Mo3 BadAzz mixtape with him in February, went to the Texas city to attend a vigil for the slain rapper on Saturday (November 14) and found himself a victim of gun violence when somebody open fired on the sprinter van he’d been riding in all day.

He was reportedly hit in the foot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
