Posted by 50 Cent’s relationship with his oldest son Marquise Jackson isn’t the best, and fans got another look into their drama recently.
The Queens native was once again dragged by his son when Marquise hopped on Instagram Live with entrepreneur and former rapper Choke No Joke to vent his frustrations with his dad and his child support payments. According to the younger Jackson, the $6700 a month that 50 Cent was sending wasn’t enough to maintain the lifestyle he claimed he needed.
“$6700 a month in the state of New York City, you do the math,” Marquise told Choke, who said he knows the numbers as he went to jail over child support payments himself. “You’re talking about a Forbes lister, you’re talking about someone that has problems with everybody, you can’t just live in any neighborhood, $81,000 is not a substantial amount of money. You can’t just live anywhere. You talking about you got beef with everybody in the industry, you can’t just live anywhere.”
Choke told Marquise if his dad is putting up $6700 in child support payments, his mother has the other half making the total money he should be getting $13,400. It’s not only 50 Cent’s responsibility to take of Marquise but also Tompkins, as Choke said, she needs to take care of her child and work too. But Marquise continued to say the money he was getting from 50 wasn’t enough.
“If I told you right now you gotta start your life over right now with $6700 a month and rebuild your life can you do it,” Marquise asked, which Choke wasted no time saying he could. “Choke you gotta stop comparing it, you comparing it to yourself, bro, you’re comparing it to your standard of lifestyle. You can’t do that.”
Marquise added: “I know what it feels like to have nothing, alright. I had to rebuild my life over with $6700 a month. $81,000 a year.”

50 Cent completed his child support payments back in 2017 and publicized the moment all over social media. Marquise didn’t take the fake celebration too well and clapped back at his father trying to make a mockery out of the situation.
The drama between 50 Cent and his son reportedly stems from his split from Marquise’s mother, Shaniqua Tompkins. In 2020, 50 Cent spoke about the beef with his family during an Instagram Live interview with Van Lathan, in which he said Tompkins’s beef with him carried over onto his son.
“It is sad, it’s a sad situation,” 50 said. “When you pray for success, you don’t necessarily pray for the things that come with it. It’s no such thing as success without jealousy, without envy or entitlement … His mom developed an entitlement that cannot be met, filtering that energy through his actual personal interests.”
When asked whether there was any type of love still there for his son, even at a distance, 50 Cent admitted there wasn’t.
“I used to,” he said. “I didn’t think that success would cost me my firstborn, but it’s the situation it is. My grandfather used to say, ‘If it rattles like a snake and slithers like a snake, is it a snake or do you need to be bit?’ What he keeps saying is, every time you see the boy he show up with somebody you got a problem with. What does that tell you?”
Marquise had posed for a picture with Supreme McGriff Jr., the son of Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff who had problems with 50 Cent back in the day. The photo circulated on social media and once 50 got a hold of it, he publicly disowned his first-born.
