Fat Joe has evidently infuriated 6ix9ine. After the rainbow-haired rapper caught wind of the Terror Squad OG’s recent comments, he went to TMZ to blast Joe for telling Math Hoffa he’s a fake gangster with a death wish.
“Fat Joe is jealous of 6ix9ine,” he said. “6ix9ine has done more in his young career than Fat Joe has ever done in his long career. Fat Joe said I was miserable and wants to die? Fat Joe is miserable and wants to die because Fat Joe doesn’t have half of what 6ix9ine has in money and cars. Fat Joe said I’m not a gangster? It was all for promotion? That’s fake news. What’s his proof that I ever said that? There is no proof. He’s lying.”
Fat Joe went in on 6ix9ine as he was discussing the Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organizations (RICO) cases involving Young Thug and Gunna. 6ix9ine infamously agreed to become the government’s star witness against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods in 2018 and was granted significantly less prison time for his cooperation.
Fat Joe, who interviewed 6ix9ine shortly before his 2018 arrest, has a problem with his post-prison antics on social media.
“I’m gonna just be honest with you — this n-gga’s a sucka,” he said. “He’s a pussy, a sucka, a bitch. I’m dead sober. This dude here. This type of shit this n-gga doing, I’m convinced he wants to die — and I don’t wish it on him or nothing like that — but I’m convinced he’s miserable in his body. He can’t look in the mirror.”
He added, “Now the man snitched. Cool. Do you, whatever. I don’t like the taunting. I don’t know if he really did it. I didn’t know what was going on. The crazy shit is when I talked to him in that interview, I talked to him off the air and he lied to me and told m e, ‘Yo this is just an image. I’m frontin.’
“He told me that in front of [former manager and Nine Trey Gangsta Blood] Shotti and them n-ggas. They was standing right there with him. ‘Yo Joe, I’m not really doing this. I’m not a gangster. This is all for promotion.’”
6ix9ine’s own attorneys presented a similar argument at one point. In November 2018, Lance Lazzaro said in a prepared statement his client was “completely innocent” and explained, “An entertainer who portrays a ‘gangster image’ to promote his music does not make him a member of an enterprise.”
It’s somewhat surprising 6ix9ine is throwing his purported wealth in Fat Joe’s face. In March, 6ix9ine told the court he was “struggling to make ends meet.”
“I do not know if I will ever command the kind of advances I was paid before my arrest, and my career stalled,” he reportedly said in court documents. “I did receive large advances under the recording artist and merchandising agreements prior to my arrest. However, I do not receive any royalties under those agreements either since my royalty accounts remain un-recouped.”
Just weeks later, he was flaunting several luxury cars and millions in cash on Instagram but then told TMZ it was “prop money.”
