Cardi B was awarded over $4 million in her libel suit against blogger Tasha K this week, bringing the nearly four-year ordeal to a close. But as Cardi B fans celebrate on Twitter, the platinum-selling rapper is having mixed feelings. As she asked via Twitter on Monday (January 24), “How am I happy and sad at the same time?”
In a follow-up post, Cardi expounded on the topic and used her court victory to shine light on an important cause — suicide prevention.
“During this trial, all of you have learned about the darkest time in my life,” she said in part. “That moment in time was fueled by the vile, disgusting, and completely false narratives that were repeatedly and relentlessly being shared online. I thought I would never be heard or vindicated and I felt completely helpless and vulnerable.
“I really hope that my experience forces all of us, but especially the platforms who allow this behavior to be a part of their communities, to re-think what moves us forward as a society versus what cripples us.”
The Bronx native included the suicide prevention national hotline at the end of her statement and encouraged anyone who’s struggling with their mental health to seek help.

Meanwhile, Tasha K says she’s getting ready to prepare her final statement on the case, writing on Twitter, “I will be making my FIRST and ONLY statement about the case Wednesday 1/26/22 EST on my @YouTube channel.” She previously addressed the case hours after Cardi B was awarded the initial $1.25 million on Monday (January 24).
“My Husband, Attorney’s, & I fought really hard,” she said. “I want to thank them for their long hours and sleepless nights. Winos it’s only up from here. See y’all in a few days. Back to work.” She followed up with, “I forgot to thank all of the viewers for all of your support. In this business, this is part of the protocol. Everyone in my seat has been through this, & this ain’t the last. This comes with the territory. See y’all Friday! It’s long overdue!”
I will be making my FIRST and ONLY statement about the case Wednesday 1/26/22 at 7pm est on my @YouTube channel.

Attorney Moore said about #tashak conduct. "All the posts and videos are still up. That's the epitome of actual malice. She thinks my client should have left it alone. Until when? Until #CardiB killed herself? Until she left her children motherless?"
