Drake’s sixth studio album is inching closer to the finish line, but its release date isn’t imminent. The OVO star’s engineer Noel Cadastre provided an update on the upcoming LP via Instagram on Tuesday (July 28), noting the project’s almost done with a caveat.

“Studio for my bday…we 90% but y’all gonna have to wait on that last 10%,” he wrote.

Earlier in the month, Drake revealed the album was 80 percent finished, so fans at least know progress is being made. But according to Cadastre, completing the last 10 percent is going to take some time.

Although the 6 God hasn’t announced a title or release date for his next LP, he has indicated it’ll be much shorter than 2019’s Scorpion. After jampacking that project with 25 tracks, Drake intends to have less than 20 songs on his sixth album.

“This album I’ll probably make it more of a realistic offering,” he told TSN in February. “Something more concise. It could be 10, 11 songs – 16.”

Drake’s untitled LP will be the follow-up to his Dark Lane Demo Tapes project, which was released in May. The compilation featured a mix of leaked songs, SoundCloud cuts and original tracks.

More recently, Drake teamed up with DJ Khaled for two singles titled “Popstar” and “Greece.” The collaborations helped Drizzy become the sole record-holder for most Top 10 songs in Billboard Hot 100 history.
