Detroit, MI – For Black Friday 2020, Eminem and Royce Da 5’9 are using the resources of The Marshall Mathers Foundation to assist students of Detroit’s Downtown Boxing Gym who were derailed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Proceeds earned from The Marshall Mathers Foundation’s DBG x #Stan x #MMLP x Carhartt collaboration will directly benefit the recreation center’s learning initiatives, which offers after-school tutoring and college prep mentorships.

“[Detroit Downtown Boxing Gym] needs your support to continue to help knockout COVID in Detroit,” Eminem exclaimed on Instagram on Thursday (November 26). “The MMF x DBG #Stan #MMLP20 collab on @carhartt gear to raise funds is available for Black Friday starting now!”

The cause is also dear to the recently Grammy-nominated Royce Da 5’9’s heart, as he also serves as Director of Community Engagement and Social Justice Initiatives for The Marshall Mathers Foundation.

“I’ve experienced firsthand the discipline, commitment, and focus that boxing training instills in young people,” Royce told The Detroit News. “I’m passionate about the sport, and I’m passionate about the role that DBG plays in our community. We need to make sure the important work they do continues.”

Khali Sweeney, DBG’s founder and CEO, also commented on the good Bad Meets Evil was doing for the American city that refuses to break.

“We’re facing a crisis like we’ve never seen and we’re doing everything we can to support our kids and help them make it through,” he said. “To have Eminem and the Marshall Mathers Foundation step up during this time and help raise much-needed funds means the world to us. This is what we do in the D. We take care of each other. And we are truly grateful.”
