Although she didn’t formally name Tory Lanez as her assailant, Megan Thee Stallion addressed all the negative attention being shot in both feet has brought her character.
“I see a lot of people painting fake narratives and making up stories and all this other wacky shit,” she cried on July 27. “But I also see a lot of people who have been very supportive and sending prayers and I just really appreciate that. I saw the Hotties doing a lot of things like writing letters on Tumblr and DM’ing me all the time and I just wanna say thank y’all so much because y’all have really been the ones that have been helping me get through this.”
She continued, “I was shot in both of my feet. I was shot in both of my feet and I had to get surgery to get the shit taken out, to get the bullets taken out. It was super scary … it was the worst experience of my life and it’s not funny. It’s nothing to joke about. It was nothing for y’all to start making fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot. I didn’t do shit.”
The “Savage” rapper concluded her confessional with confidence karma would catch up with the triggerman.

Black Thought & Hip Hop Community Mourn Malik B.’s Passing
View this post on InstagramWe made a name and carved a lane together where there was none. We ressurected a city from the ashes, put it on our backs and called it Illadelph. In friendly competition with you from day one, I always felt as if I possessed only a mere fraction of your true gift and potential. Your steel sharpened my steel as I watched you create cadences from the ether and set them free into the universe to become poetic law, making the English language your bitch. I always wanted to change you, to somehow sophisticate your outlook and make you see that there were far more options than the streets, only to realize that you and the streets were one… and there was no way to separate a man from his true self. My beloved brother M-illitant. I can only hope to have made you as proud as you made me. The world just lost a real one. May Allah pardon you, forgive your sins and grant you the highest level of paradise. #MalikB #TheLegendaryRootsCrew
Known for his tenacious rhymes as an original member of the original Roots Crew, Philly-bred MC Malik B. passed away on July 29 after being away from the scene for some time.
Black Thought used his prowess as a master MC to deliver a powerful eulogy for his longtime friend writing, “We made a name and carved a lane together where there was none. We resurrected a city from the ashes, put it on our backs and called it Illadelph. In friendly competition with you from day one, I always felt as if I possessed only a mere fraction of your true gift and potential. Your steel sharpened my steel as I watched you create cadences from the ether and set them free into the universe to become poetic law, making the English language your bitch.”
Malik B. appeared on the first four Roots albums. Fellow true-school MCs Wax Poetics, Blueprint, Reef The Lost Cause and more also paid their lyrical respects.
