Memphis Man Indicted For Killing Three 6 Mafia's Crunchy Black Daughter — Then He's Arrested For Murder Again

Memphis, TN – The daughter of Three 6 Mafia affiliate Crunchy Black was fatally shot in August 2020 and now, the same man indicted for her death has been arrested for murder again. According to ABC24 Memphis, 32-year-old Lamont Murry has been charged with second-degree murder following a shooting that took place in Memphis on Sunday afternoon (November 7).

Officers responded to the scene at Dixie Road and discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Memphis Police Department explained in a tweet, “Prelim info indicated that this shooting stemmed from an argument with a known male subject that officers detained.”

Murry was indicted in June on charges involving the shooting deaths of Waquel Richardson and 20-year-old Ashley Carter, Crunchy Black’s daughter. The fatal incident took place at the Fair View Inn and Suites on American Way around 3 p.m. local time. Both Richardson and Carter were found dead at the scene.

On August 31, 2020, police discovered a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle from surveillance video of the shooting. They then found Murry hiding in the attic during a search of the home. Investigators said the vehicle had been spray painted in an attempt to disguise distinctive markings. Murry admitted to spray painting the vehicle and told investigators the Richardsons were shot as “gang retaliation” for a double homicide two weeks prior.

Although the case against Murry was dismissed in October 2020 for lack of evidence, it was later presented to a grand jury. Subsequently, Murry was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and tampering with/fabricating evidence in that shooting.

Crunchy Black’s Daughter Reportedly Shot & Killed Outside Of Memphis Hotel

Crunchy Black opened up about his daughter’s death in an October 2020 interview with VladTV and admitted he had to be stopped from retaliating.

“When that happened, I just shut down for a minute,” he said. “And actually, I was really ready to be do something that I don’t need to be doing. But my organization told me that everything is cool, so it is what it is. She called me four o’clock the night before, four o’clock in the morning.

“And I usually be up because I got hoes, mane, out there getting me some dough, and I stay up until them hoes come home. That day right there, I was asleep and I didn’t wake up until my oldest son called me and told me he heard about the news.”

He continued, “After I woke up, he was telling me what was going on or what he heard. I was like, ‘Let’s find out for sure before I get to doing what I need to do.’ So, he went up there and called me and told, ‘Yeah, I think it’s true.’”

Bond for Murry is currently set at $2,000,000 and was due in court Tuesday (November 9).
