Power Book III: Raising Kanan just got renewed for a third season on Starz. The news comes ahead of the season 2 premiere on Sunday (August 14).

The third installment of the Power Universe tells the story of a young Kanan Stark maneuvering his way through South Jamaica, Queens in the early ’90s.

Stark’s mother, Raquel Thomas, introduces him to the drug game and sets off events that lead to the villainous character 50 Cent played in the first Power series. Book III stars MeKai Curtis, Patina Miller, Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Joey Bada$$, Hailey Kilgore, Quincy Brown and more.

“Our passionate and loyal fans have been eagerly awaiting the Season 2 return of Raising Kanan to see the continued transformation of a young and naïve teenage Kanan Stark into the ruthless, no-nonsense character they know and love,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz. “And we’re thrilled to be doubling down on a third season with this incredible cast led by Patina and MeKai.”

Power isn’t the only brand that’s getting love from Starz as 50 will be executive producing a new eight-part docuseries titled The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast, which is set to premiere on October 23.

The series will cover the entire BMF story, starting with the rise of Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory in early ’80s Detroit then trek through BMF’s peak years during the late 90’s to the end of their reign in 2006 up to present day.

Former members, insiders, associates and celebrity figures close to the family will appear in the documentary that will also feature archival footage.

50’s other show BMF already had its second season renewed right after Starz aired the first episode of the crime drama back in 2021. BMF’s debut broke all sorts of records on Starz, such as earning the No. 1 premiere on the Starz app across all of their programmings last year.

The media mogul has been extremely busy with all the projects he’s been a part of, especially his forthcoming horror film Skill House. It’s set to release sometime in 2023 and will be the first of a franchise. The ensemble cast will star TikToker Bryce Hall, UFC veteran Paige VanZant, and even 50’s son Sire Jackson.

The movie became a hot topic on social media as well after one of the camera operators passed out while filming an extra gory scene.

“The camera fell to the ground while filming, This shit is gonna be crazy for real,” 50 wrote on Instagram. “This guy Steve Johnson and Stolberg are responsible for this shit. They did the last 2 SAW movies,They are gonna fvck around and kill the crew. SMH.”
