YK Osiris may have settled all of his financial debts, but according to one up-and-coming R&B singer, the Florida crooner has been stealing verses too.
YK recently lent his vocal talents to Mak Sauce for his new single “Love Pains,” but according to a singer named KDTheSinger, the song already exists and it was made by him. The singer’s track had been uploaded to YouTube over two years ago, whereas Mak Sauce’s new single is from 8 months ago. A closer listen finds KD and YK’s verses to be completely identical in both melody and lyrics.
It’s unclear if KD will move forward with any legal action, but the resemblance between the two tracks is uncanny.
The plagiarism accusations are the latest bit of bad news to befall the R&B singer, who was accused in April of lying about paying for the funeral of Tyre Sampson, the 14-year-old boy who fell to his death at ICON amusement park in Orlando, Florida. While YK seemed adamant on social media about covering the costs, Sampson’s brother wrote in a post shared by The Shade Room that the R&B singer had made empty promises.
“YK Osiri or whatever dude name is cancelled,” Sampson’s brother tweeted. “Used lil bro for pure clout. Didn’t pay a dime but told the world otherwise. Even posted a fake screenshot of a GoFundMe donation. Stop pretending you about giving back to the community just to get your sales up. Lame as hell.”
Sampson’s mother, Nekia Dodd, agreed with her son’s tweet and wrote, “And he blocked me on IG too!”
