Young Thug fell victim to an “insert foot-in-mouth” scenario on Monday (December 28) on an episode of Gillie Da Kid’s Million Dollaz Worth Of Game podcast. During their conversation, Thugger was bragging about having 30 or 40 stadium-worthy anthems, slipped up and essentially insulted JAY-Z in the process, saying, “JAY-Z ain’t got 30 songs like that.”
Judging by the look on Gillie’s face, Thug must have realized he said something outlandish and quickly backtracked.
“I’m just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them bitches,” he sputtered. “I”m not literally saying him. I’m saying n-ggas who you thinking … I seen n-ggas like, ‘Damn, they don’t know this song?’ I’m so scared to get boo’ed, I don’t even perform songs they won’t know.”

With 13 studio albums dating back to 1996, Hov has amassed an arsenal of not only Billboard hits but also celebrated B-sides. Not to mention, he’s sold over 29,179,000 studio albums as of December 2014.
From tracks such as “Brooklyn’s Finest” featuring The Notorious B.I.G. from Jay’s platinum-selling debut Reasonable Doubt to “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem)” from 1998’s 5x-platinum album Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life, the Hip Hop mogul’s discography is drowning in anthems.
Meanwhile, Young Thug has dropped one solo studio album — the platinum-selling So Much Fun — three EPs and 19 mixtapes. Of those 19 mixtapes, seven of them have charted on the Billboard 200. 2016’s Jeffery peaked at No. 8 and his Super Slimey collaboration with Future landed at No. 2, his highest chart position to date.
Thugger has faired much better on the Billboard Hot 100. Thirty of his songs either as a featured or lead artist have been certified at least gold by the Recording Industry Industry of America (RIAA). His collaboration with Camila Cabello, “Havana,” was certified 9x-platinum in 2017.
Although Thug attempted to correct his latest feux pas (don’t forget about those André 3000 comments ), the damage was done and Twitter was soon ablaze with comments putting him in check.
Check out some of the reactions below.
25 years of rapping and Jay-Z don't have 30 songs that a stadium knows and Young Thug does?

First he disrespected 3 Stacks & now he's dissing Jay-Z saying he doesn't have 30 songs like that.
Young Thug took a bad audience not knowing Jay's shit & is using it to further divide youth & elders. We don't need this negativity separating 2 artists with hella fans & influence https://t.co/DYQ1fD6yFJ

Young Thug’s biggest downfall will be how he speaks on legends in the culture.

First it was Andre 3000 and now Thugger saying JAY Z doesn’t have 30 songs people will know
Young Thug needs to just stop talking on legends and focus on releasing PUNK pic.twitter.com/kcI0z77m1Y

I guarantee you a lot of people know way more Jay-Z songs than Young Thug songs and they can actually understand Jay-Z better. There’s no comparison between the two pic.twitter.com/QTwvD4iyha
