Jimmy Page Calls Out Streaming Companies

Posted by

Led Zeppelin icon Jimmy Page has called out the way streaming companies treat musicians.

The guitarist has commented following evidence given to UK Government select committees, which revealed the poor royalty rates on offer.

Powerful testimony from the likes of Nadine Shah made headlines, forcing the rock legend to act.

In a new social media post, he writes: “I fully appreciate the dilemma surrounding streaming royalties that should be rightfully paid to all musicians and writers who made the music.”⁣ ⁣

“The sooner the streaming companies can make fair payments to all musicians whose music is played on or viewed via the internet, and to pay fair royalties to those who give us great pleasure from those who are exploiting it, the better.⁣”
