Coachella’s April dates have been cancelled.
The desert festival endured a rocky 2020, with its initial instalment being re-scheduled for Autumn, before being cancelled altogether.
This time round, Coachella had aimed to take place on the weekends of April 9th – 11th and 16th – 18th, but those dates have been wiped.
Dr. Cameron Kaiser – California’s public health officer – took the decision, and tweeted confirmation over the weekend.
Due to the pandemic, Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser today (Jan. 29) signed a public health order canceling Coachella Valley Music and Arts, Stagecoach Country Music festivals planned for April 2021. We look forward to when the events may return. https://t.co/YAIn8uTea9

It looks to be another rocky year for festivals, with Glastonbury already confirming that it will take 2021 as another fallow year, before aiming to return in 2022.
No word as yet on potential fresh dates for Coachella.
