His new album ‘P.M.’ is out now, and it is making waves in his native Australia and right here in the UK, a potent song cycle that covers loss, recovery, and renewal.
Album cut ‘Don’t Forget’ brings together the multi-faceted strands of his artistry, and it locates Jarryd James operating in an electronic sphere.
The song finds Jarryd working alongside Andrew Wyatt, a pop auteur who has sculpted colossal hits alongside his role in Swedish group Miike Snow.
Jarryd says…
“I wrote this in New York; I had flown out there from LA to work with Andrew Wyatt but he had been held up at some other sessions, so I extended my stay for a few days. If I’m being honest, I was feeling extra isolated and lonely at this time in my life, but being in NYC made me at least feel good enough about it to put these emotions into a song (I love New York the most). I was able to wander the city for a while and collect my thoughts before Andrew arrived and we made most of the song in one night.”
Lucy Knox directs the full video, one that dips into the suburbs of Melbourne – intimately shot, it dives into shared houses and under train bridges, showing another side to the city.
