The last time André 3000 posted something on Instagram was in May 2018. Needless to say, it’s a rarity when the elusive Outkast MC uses his social media platforms. But on Wednesday (June 10), that all changed when the Hip Hop legend shared an image of a shirt he’s selling in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The shirt designs are inspired by some of his famous jumpsuits and prompted by the police killing of 46-year-old George Floyd.
“Something very important is happening all over the world and it is happening to all of us,” he wrote in the caption. “How does it make you feel? For 3 days, a selection of shirts inspired by a collection of my jumpsuits will be sold.
“and 100% of net proceeds will be donated to Movement for Black Lives @mvmnt4blklives to aid in their fight to end police brutality & racial injustice against Black people. This is only one piece in the war against systemic racism. It takes all of us. BLACK LIVES MATTER … at a minimum.”

As Three Stacks mentioned, all net proceeds from the clothing will go to Movement For Black Lives. As stated on its website, the M4BL organization “seeks to reach millions, mobilize hundreds of thousands, and organize tens of thousands, so that Black political power is a force able to influence national and local agendas in the direction of our shared Vision for Black Lives.”
Since the police killing of 46-year-old black man George Floyd, the entire globe has erupted in protests and riots in an attempt to fight for racial equality. Numerous Hip Hop artists have used their platforms to speak out against police brutality — Dre is simply the latest in a growing number.
The t-shirt collection includes phrases on the front such as “breathe,” “have you stopped growing? and “which type of stereo are you?”
