South Korean label ADOR and K-pop group NewJeans have been embroiled in a heated legal saga for over a year, and it took an unexpected turn last month when the label terminated and sued Danielle, one-fifth of the crew. The member addressed NewJeans fans (aka Bunnies) for the first time since then in a nine-minute livestream on her new Dazzibelle Instagram and YouTube accounts today.

“When I think of Bunnies, the first thing that comes to mind is your eyes — the way we locked eyes onstage, the feeling that our hearts stayed connected even when the music stopped,” she said. “Those memories are what quietly hold me up now.”

“Many things are still being sorted out, and when the time comes, I will update you all about what’s happening, about the lawsuit and about all the things you’re curious about,” she continued, alternating between Korean and English.

“There is one thing I can say with clarity,” she went on. “I fought until the very end to be together with the members and that truth stays with me. NewJeans will always be a part of my heart — each member, with sincerity. Though we’ll be in different places from now on, I’ll continue supporting them as one of the Bunnies.”

Last year NewJeans tried to perform at ComplexCon Hong Kong under the new name NJZ, but a Seoul court blocked the billing two days before the show. The concert did go on, but the group made a speech at the end announcing a hiatus. A few months later the court ruled that ADOR’s contract was valid and that all five members remain bound to them until 2029.

At the end of the 2025 ADOR revealed it was terminating Danielle’s contract and suing her, a member of her family, and former CEO Min Hee-jin for $32m for their roles in triggering the conflict.

Fans have apparently been begging for help from MrBeast, who replied on Twitter, “What do I need to do?” He discussed the situation with fellow streamer JasonTheWeen in a couple of livestreams last week, but appeared fuzzy on the details.

“From what I’ve gathered through Twitter, I guess she’s in a lawsuit, and it’s like $30 million, and they want me to buy the group,” MrBeast said in their first livestream.  “They want you to buy HYBE,” JasonTheWeen clarified, “which is probably like a billion dollar company.” MrBeast: “Okay… is that for sale?”

In a followup stream over lunch in the back of a car, a still confused MrBeast shared an update. “The number I keep seeing is like $30 million,” he said. “But I mean if it makes sense… I guess if that’s what the internet needs and that will help them bring them back together. I mean, is that what they want?”

Surely something will come out of this.
