Cam’ron and J. Cole have officially moved toward ending their legal conflict regarding their 2024 collaboration, “Ready ’24.” According to documents obtained by XXL on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the parties have reached an agreement in principle to resolve the outstanding claims and are currently finalizing the settlement paperwork.
While the specific financial and contractual terms of the settlement remain confidential, the agreement is expected to be fully executed within the next 30 days. This resolution marks the conclusion of a high-profile dispute that began when the Harlem rapper initiated legal action against the Dreamville founder.
The lawsuit stemmed from a disagreement over the terms of their collaboration on the Might Delete Later track. Cam’ron alleged that he and J. Cole had a verbal agreement: in exchange for his verse on “Ready ’24,” Cole would reciprocate by appearing on a track for Cam’ron or by making a guest appearance on his popular podcast, It Is What It Is. When those conditions were not met, the Harlem veteran sought to be named a co-author of the song and requested damages exceeding $500,000.
In response, J. Cole‘s legal team denied the existence of any such agreement, maintaining that no promises regarding a podcast appearance or a reciprocal feature were ever made. Despite the initial tension, the two artists eventually held a public sit-down on the Talk With Flee podcast in March, where they addressed the friction. During the conversation, J. Cole admitted he was initially disappointed by the legal maneuver, while Cam’ron candidly acknowledged that the lawsuit was, in part, a strategic publicity stunt designed to capture the North Carolina rapper’s attention.
With the legal chapter closing, both artists appear ready to move past the disagreement, effectively putting the “Ready ’24” saga behind them.
