The project, arriving via Capitol Records, serves as a definitive statement for the London-based singer-songwriter as she navigates the complexities of growing up.
The album title is deeply personal, representing an alter ego that the artist describes as an elevated version of herself. For flowerovlove, her fashion choices act as a form of armor, providing strength as she transitions from girlhood into womanhood. Reflecting on the creative process, she notes, “A lot of this album is based on first times. First times falling in love, first times getting to know yourself, first times falling out of love, first times realising girlhood is so important.”
To celebrate the announcement, she has unveiled the new single ‘KISS KISS KISS’. The track showcases her versatility, moving seamlessly between delicate, folky passages and expansive, stadium-ready choruses that capture the visceral intensity of young romance. The single is accompanied by a self-directed, single-take music video featuring 24kGoldn.
MINI SKIRT WARRIOR promises to be a comprehensive look at her artistry, featuring previously released singles ‘In My Victoria’s Secret’ and ‘American Wedding’. The project also boasts an impressive list of collaborators, including Amy Allen, Steve Mac, Steph Jones, and Wilfred Cissé.
Following a successful festival run that included appearances at Coachella and Governors Ball, flowerovlove is set to bring her global pop aspirations to the stage this autumn, supporting Niall Horan on the UK and European leg of his Dinner Party Live On Tour.
