English songwriter Dan Croll has shared his new single ‘Cold-Blooded’.
The artist made the decision to relocate from Liverpool, up-ending his life in the process.
Travelling to Los Angeles, the move radically changed his perceptions, and this filtered into his music.
Working alongside Matthew E. White, a full album is incoming, one that charts a pivotal 12 months in his life.
New song ‘Cold-Blooded’ leads the way, and it’s a heartfelt offering, explicitly personal in its lyricism.
We’re able to share a beautiful clip, one that teams Dan Croll with visual team The Wild Honey Pie. Filmed in the famed LA music shop Old Style Guitars, it finds the songwriter seated at an electric piano.
He says: “It felt right to get a video in ‘Old Style Guitars’, as the first thing I did was purchase a guitar from there as soon as I arrived in LA. They also had a bunch of other great instruments in there, and it felt great to play the Wurlitzer for this track!”
“Having worked with Dan for years and years, on all sorts of sessions, putting together a visual album like this was a dream come true. He’s a truly magnificent musician,” added Eric Weiner of The Wild Honey Pie.
His partner Tim Toda adds: “Working with Dan to create a cohesive palette for this new visual record has been incredibly fulfilling. We had worked with Dan on several Buzzsession’s, but we figured we’d take the concept of a ‘live session’ and push it to feel more refined. We wanted to take it to the next level. I believe the videos speak for themselves when I say much of these videos stem from a place of discomfort, love, and discovery.”
Tune in now.
Dan Croll’s new album ‘Grand Plan’ is out on August 21st.
