The legal proceedings surrounding the murder of Jacksonville, Fla., rapper Foolio have officially commenced. On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, opening arguments were presented in the trial of four men accused of orchestrating the artist’s death in June 2024.
The prosecution has centered its case on the violent, long-standing gang conflict between Foolio’s 6 Block collective and the rival Top Killers and 1200 groups, with which the defendants—Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy—are allegedly affiliated. In a move to establish motive and the intensity of the ongoing feud, the prosecution played Yungeen Ace‘s track “Game Over” for the jury, framing the song as clear evidence of the deep-seated animosity between the parties involved.
Beyond the musical evidence, the trial took a dramatic turn as the prosecution presented footage from Davion Murphy’s post-arrest interrogation. The video reportedly depicts the defendant mimicking the act of firing a weapon multiple times after being left alone in the room by law enforcement.
Authorities allege that Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy were responsible for the fatal shooting of Foolio outside a Holiday Inn in Tampa, Fla. Isaiah Chance is accused of acting as a coordinator, allegedly tracking the rapper’s movements to provide his location to the shooters.
This trial follows the conviction of a fifth suspect, Alicia Andrews, who was found guilty of manslaughter last November. Her sentencing was delayed after an appellate court removed the presiding judge from the case due to concerns regarding potential bias.
