Posted by Thomas Bangalter, the visionary musician best known for his tenure in Daft Punk, has officially confirmed the release of his new album, ‘MIRAGE’. The project is scheduled to arrive this summer, marking another significant chapter in his post-mask career.
Since stepping away from the iconic duo, Bangalter has increasingly focused on experimental and left-field projects. ‘MIRAGE’ is a direct evolution of his recent work composing for the ballet of the same name. To bring this ambitious project to life, the French composer collaborated with choreographer Damien Jalet and contemporary artist Kōhei Nawa, resulting in a performance piece described as a ritual for 16 dancers.
The score for the ballet draws heavily from the influence of avant-garde pioneer Iannis Xenakis. Bangalter has meticulously collated these sonic explorations into a cohesive studio album. Fans can expect a release on June 5th, with the project set to be available across multiple formats, including digital, vinyl, CD, and a limited edition Revox Tape.
