Putting the super into supergroup, the highly anticipated debut album from The Jaded Hearts Club is finally here. Featuring the crème de la crème of rock ‘n’ roll, ‘You’ve Always Been Here’ takes iconic Motown and Northern Soul classics and shakes things up with a new scintillating twist.
Ever thought you would hear Matt Bellamy sing ‘We’ll Meet Again’ – neither did we, but it works. His plaintive delivery is hauntingly beautiful and sums up the mood of a nation when it comes to the events of 2020.
A standout is a cover of ‘I Put A Spell You’ which features a blistering drum intro from the Zutons’ Sean Payne. Their interpretation of Barrett Strong’s ‘Money (That’s What I Want)’ and the mysterious sounding ‘Fever’ brings a different dimension to these classic songs and breathes new life into these and other legendary songs.
