Nicole Young, Dr. Dre’s estranged wife, reportedly won’t allow him to regain possession of some personal items — including a gun. According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Young is refusing to let the hitmaking producer get his firearm, golf clubs and a motorcycle from their beach house in Malibu, California.
“Mr. Young sent someone to Malibu this morning to pick up some of his personal belongings (something Ms. Young does almost daily at the Brentwood home),” Dre’s legal team wrote in a letter to his wife’s representation. “At first, your client said OK, but after walking away for 5 minutes (assumedly to you call your office) she came back and rejected the request.”
Dre and Young are currently involved in divorce proceedings as they legally wrangle over a $1 billion fortune. The two are living in separate homes with Dre located at their residence in Brentwood, Calfornia while his wife stays at their Malibu home.
Young has alleged Dre forced her to sign a prenuptial agreement in 1996 but claims he later changed his mind and destroyed multiples copies of the prenup. She’s argued it’s invalid while Dre has denied her contentions.
Dre’s wife filed for divorce in June. She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason.
