Fayetteville, NC – To the delight of Dreamville fans across the globe, J. Cole has released his long awaited album The Off-Season. On ‘let.go.my.hand,’ one of the project’s twelve tracks, the Fayetteville, North Carolina rapper has also now admitted to his infamous fight with Diddy.
Following the Video Music Awards in 2013, celebrities flocked to the PHD Dream Downtown in Manhattan. The Bad Boy Records founder was reportedly visibly drunk at the afterparty when he confronted Kendrick Lamar for his infamous verse on Big Sean’s “Control,” allegedly attempting to spill a drink on the DAMN. rapper.

In a now notorious moment in Hip Hop history, it was J. Cole who intervened, leading to a scuffle between the two rappers’ entourages. Though neither party admitted to the incident back in 2013 Cole now cops to the incident on The Off-Season.
As the Roc Nation rapper reflects on the growth he’s undergone during his decade-plus career on “let.go.my.hand,” he remembers the 2013 afterparty, rapping: “My last scrap was with Puff, who would have thought it?,” and finally confirming the fight to the public.
Years of time has passed, and it seems Cole recognizes his growth, rapping: “Back then I ain’t know shit, now I know too much.”
Luckily, it seems that the two rappers are on amicable terms, as Diddy graced the outro of “let.go.my.hand” with a prayer for protection and strength.
The Off-Season is now available on all major streaming platforms.
