Kodak Black and Desiigner have have responded to 21 Savage, who recently claimed no one on their 2016 XXL Freshmen List could beat him in a Verzuz matchup.
During a recent Clubhouse conversation, 21 Savage suggested he could beat anyone in his XXL Freshman Class, included Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Lil Yachty, Denzel Curry, G Herbo, Dave East, Lil Dicky, Desiigner and Anderson .Paak.
“Nobody from that Freshman cover [could] beat me in no Verzuz,” he declared. “Nobody.”
Kodak wasted no time addressing 21’s claims during a recent Instagram Live stream. According to Yak, he respected the Slaughter Gang rapper’s opinion but ultimately disagreed.
“That’s how you should feel, know what I mean?” he said. “But you know I always put myself first over any n-gga, any day. That’s cap.”
Desiigner also took matters into his own hands and reminded 21 of all the accomplishments he’s achieved since he dropped his smash hit “Panda” in 2015.
“Ay man, why you talking like that?” he said in an Instagram Stories post. “You’re 21. [I] went platinum 20 times. … Stop playing.”

As of press time, no one else has responded to 21’s claim. However, it would be rather interesting to see who from that 2016 Freshman Class would be able to go toe-to-toe with 21 Savage.
The Atlanta native has definitely made his mark since appearing on that Freshman cover in June 2016. The British-born rapper has appeared on over 60 Billboard Hot 100 hits, including two No. 1 singles: the diamond-certified “Rockstar” with Post Malone and “Jimmy Cooks” with Drake.
He has also released four projects that have invaded the top five on the Billboard 200, including the chart-topping I Am > I Was and Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin. He has two platinum albums, with 2017’s Issa Album and 2018’s I Am > I Was.
21 Savage has yet to step into the Verzuz arena, but has been challenged in the past by Foolio. The Jacksonville, Florida native challenged 21 to a battle after he called for a city-against-city contest, but was swiftly swatted away.
“I swear I can beat Jacksonville by myself, bruh,” 21 Savage bragged before Foolio pointed out the rappers in the Florida city are just getting started. “Y’all is,” 21 added, “but I’ll beat y’all by myself, though. Facts.”
