NAV's Self-Titled Mixtape & Metro Boomin Collab ‘Perfect Timing’ Crack Gold 3 Years After Releasing

Three years after their respective releases, both of Nav’s 2017 efforts have reached the 500,000 threshold.

Released February 24, 2017, the Toronto artist’s self-titled debut tape NAV featured 11 tracks with an appearance from The Weeknd. It was rated one of the Most Disappointing Rap Albums Of 2017 in HipHopDX’s year-end review for its limited versatility, mainly filled with bars centered around doing drugs.

The Metro Boomin collab Perfect Timing released a few months later on July 21, 2017 with 15 new tracks and features from the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Offset, Playboi Carti, 21 Savage, Belly and Gucci Mane. That album also landed on DX’s Most Disappointing Rap Albums Of 2017 for its lack of content – though the beats were hard.

Nav’s released a lot more music since then, however. In May, he earned his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with his third studio album Good Intentions – beating out new albums from the likes of Kehlani and Lil Durk for the top spot in the process.
