Tekashi 6ix9ine returned with a new video for “GOOBA” last Friday (May 8), which quickly broke a YouTube record for the most views in a 24-hour period.
Armed with the momentum from that, he’s now urging his fans to buy the single in an effort to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On Thursday (May 14), the Brooklyn-born rapper sent out a call-to-action and promised another single and accompanying visual — if the single lands in the coveted spot.
“EVERYONE GO BUY GOOBA RIGHT NOW!” he wrote alongside the single artwork. “IF WE GO #1 ILL DROP A NEW SONG AND VIDEO.”

Meanwhile, 6ix9ine continues to antagonize his haters and make light of his “snitch” reputation. In his latest Instagram post, the 24-year-old rapper shared a video of celebrity hair stylist J. Wright dying his hair his signature rainbow colors.
He wrote in the caption, “TRIGGER FINGERS TURN TO TWITTER FINGERS YOU GETTIN BODIED BY A SNITCHIN NIGGA na who said that???? @iam_jonathan_ WE KILLED THAT !!”

Apparently, 6ix9ine doesn’t have a problem poking fun of himself. In another Instagram post, he shared a clip of the 2018 video “TATI” in which he raps, “Police pull up on me, I don’t know what happened/Police pull up on you, you gon’ get to yapping.”
He asked in the caption, “Could I take it back or is it too late?”

6ix9ine was granted a compassionate release from prison last month after Judge Paul A. Engelmayer deemed his asthmatic condition put him at a higher risk for contracting COVID-19. Almost immediately, he copped a $300,000 chain, several luxury vehicles and a Richard Millie watch, which start at $80,000.
His rap return also broke an Instagram Live record with over 1.9 million viewers tuning in for his first public appearance since his November 2018 arrest. Like it or not, 6ix9ine appears intent on sticking around. If “GOOBA” does indeed go No. 1, this is clearly just the beginning.
