Method Man is a man of many talents — prolific MC, actor, entrepreneur and now, a production company owner. According to Variety, the Wu-Tang Clan powerhouse has joined forces with his manager Shauna Garr for a new production company called Six AM, An Entertainment Co.
First order of business? How High 3, which recently sold to Universal 1440 with the goal of reuniting Method Man and Redman, who starred in the 2001 original. The announcement should appease How High fans considering How High 2 didn’t feature the dynamic duo in any way, shape or form.
In a 2018 interview with The Grass Routes Podcast, Redman explained not owning the rights to the film led to Lil Yachty and DC Young Fly taking the co-leads instead.
“Me and Meth we’re not aware of the transaction of this movie,” Redman said at the time. “My thing is, you have the Red and Meth brand that [helped build] and create this … those are all our ideas. When the new deal came about, we weren’t involved in it.”
With How High 3 under the Six AM name, Method Man now has the chance to pull his partner-in-rhyme back into the fold
As noted in the article, “Six AM will also aim to produce a diverse range of content for untold points of view for audiences of all ages. The company will specialize in projects distributed via streaming, social media platforms and other relevant technologies alongside traditional television and theatrical release.”
Redman and Method Man participated in a special Verzuz on April 20 called “How High.” The two Hip Hop heavyweights sailed through some of their most iconic hits while paying tribute to Phife Dawg, DMX and Black Rob along the way.
