Feds Unveil New Evidence in Lil Durk Murder-for-Hire Case

Federal authorities have intensified their case against Chicago rapper Lil Durk, filing a third superseding indictment in the United States Court for the Central District of California. The new legal documents, filed on Thursday, June 4, 2026, introduce significant evidence that prosecutors claim links the artist to a broader racketeering conspiracy.

Among the most notable pieces of evidence cited in the 30-page indictment are screenshots from an unreleased music video for the track “Redman.” According to the prosecution, the footage depicts Lil Durk shooting and killing an individual styled to resemble Quando Rondo. Additionally, the government has presented a text message exchange in which the rapper allegedly stated, “I can’t let this slide,” in direct reference to the 2020 killing of King Von.

Legal Defense Responds to New Charges

The new charges include murder in aid of racketeering and conspiracy to commit stalking. In response to the filing, Lil Durk‘s legal team issued a sharp rebuttal via social media, characterizing the government’s latest move as a desperate attempt to salvage a weakening case.

“This indictment is lipstick on a pig. For nearly two years now, federal prosecutors have desperately tried to fend off challenges to a very weak case. Now, just two months before trial—a trial that Durk Banks has demanded at every turn—they pull this pathetic pivot, recycling old accusations into a scrambling prosecutor’s back-up plan: allege racketeering and as many unrelated false claims as possible. This is not a sign of strength. It’s an acknowledgment of weakness. The fact remains: Durk Banks is innocent, no matter how many indictments they want to throw at him.”

The ongoing case centers on allegations that Lil Durk orchestrated a plot to kill Quando Rondo in 2022 as retaliation for the death of King Von, who was killed by an associate of Quando Rondo, Timothy Leeks, in November 2020. All six defendants involved in the case have entered pleas of not guilty, with the trial currently scheduled to commence on August 20, 2026.
