Before hitting the stage with Miles Minnick and Jon Keith at WESTFEST 2024 on August 17th, LA County rap duo Generation Recovery has released their new single, “Westside Groove.” Featuring talk box vocals from Miguel Bey and produced by Uneak Music, the track is a perfect summer jam for any family gathering or backyard BBQ.

Generation Recovery, consisting of Michael Miller and Hope Marin, was born two years apart in Los Angeles. Despite growing up on opposite sides of town—Mike in South Central and Hope in Lawndale/Gardena—their shared love for the city and music has united them. Both were homeschooled and deeply supported by their families. Mike honed his craft as a wordsmith while Hope found solace in singing and playing guitar. Now based in South Bay, their new track celebrates their musical journey and LA roots.

“Westside Groove is a reminder to give thanks to the creator for all he’s done in our lives despite our transgressions,” the group said. “This song embodies what it means to be joyful no matter the circumstance. [Hope] I ask in my verse do you know who my Jesus is because it is a crucial, life altering question and emphasizes how the Lord has personally been there for me.”
