T.I. and Young Thug are keeping up their string of collaborations with more music. On Friday (September 11), the pair of Atlanta rappers returned with a new song called “Ring.”
Produced by DY Krazy and Chopsquad DJ, the track finds them trading verses about actions leading to consequences. Tip also calls out people living their life for social media and warns them about being brought back to reality.
“Never let ’em handle a n-gga/Muthafuckin’ player, I do it like in Atlanta n-gga/You do that shit for IG and the fucking camera/You ‘gon be happy ’til someone teach you some fucking manners,” T.I. raps before a Joker-esque laugh.
The two artists also previewed the music video on their Instagram pages, announcing it will be released on September 25.

In August, T.I. teased the collaboration calling it an “instant classic” alongside a photo of them working in the studio.
“Oh Nvm us…just a couple Kings plottin global domination,” he wrote. “Boyyyyy when I tell you me & slime got some shit comin…. ya best believe it JACK #InstantClassic #AnotherOne @thuggerthugger1.”
Thug and Tip have worked together several times over the years. In 2018, they teamed up on the song “The Weekend” from T.I.’s 2018 album Dime Trap. Older collaborations can also be found on their Paperwork and Barter 6 LPs.
Tip’s lyrics about doing things for the camera are fitting considering the business advice he gave out this week. Instead of buying expensive gifts for show, he wants people to make better decisions and spend more wisely.
“All y’all getting that money from the government… ain’t more Cartiers, it’ ain’t no more Louis Vuitton — go get you some property please,” he said. “Please y’all, go buy some property.”
