After Tory Lanez wrote out a pre-emptive warning before releasing his new track “Cap” on Thursday (March 10), the Canadian crooner officially dropped the track on Friday (March 11), throwing gasoline on an already out of control fire that is his current criminal case involving Megan Thee Stallion.
Throughout the track, Tory calls out Megan for allegedly lying about being shot and slams her boyfriend Pardison Fontaine for being unable to write a hit without the help of Cardi B, whom he often collaborates with.
“Ken just got them two best friends to f*ck, I said ‘goals’. He a bird he probably in the X4, plus the only Party we know is next door,” Tory raps. “You know these ni-ggas talkin’, know these pussy boys a joke. You got a Goyard on your birthday ‘cause that n-gga broke. The casa, the miso, that shit right where I’m at. He would say somethin’ back but he need Cardi B for that.”
Before the track dropped, Tory took to Twitter to offer his own disclaimer and said he was not insulting Offset or Cardi on the song.
“Before my new song #CAP even drops TONIGHT… there’s one thing in the song I don’t want no one getting confused… I am not dissing @OffsetYRN or @iamcardib That’s family,” he tweeted.
Tory also used the track to reference another legal snafu he became involved in last week, when a company called BH 4908 filed a foreclosure lawsuit on the rapper’s Miami condo, saying the 29-year-old hasn’t paid rent in months.
“Taboo in Miami, I’m too rich for booby traps,” Tory spits.
The Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez felony assault trial began on February 23. But before things kicked off, Akademiks claimed via Twitter no DNA evidence was discovered on the weapon used to shoot Megan in July 2020. After a venomous online back and forth between Akademiks, Megan Thee Stallion and Tory, the latter two went back to their respective corners and are due back in the courtroom on April 5. Judging by Tory’s new track, things might get more contentious moving forward.
