SZA hasn’t released an album since 2017’s critically acclaimed CTRL, but she’s been more active in 2021 than in the past. The TDE singer performed her Doja Cat collaboration “Kiss Me More” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards over the weekend, which sits in the Top 10 on the latest Billboard Hot 100.
Although, last week also marked the first time her December 2020 single “Good Days” left the Hot 100 since its release. SZA wasn’t happy with the song’s handling on the label side and made her feelings known in a comment on one of her fan pages.
“I really hate my label,” she wrote. “So much.”

With rumors flying and SZA’s fans searching for answers, the “Love Galore” artist took to Twitter to clear the air on Wednesday (May 26) and let everyone know to lay off her manager Punch and the rest of Top Dawg Entertainment. (TDE falls under the RCA Records umbrella.)
“Punch is my manager (not a machine or a label) lol also been like my stage dad the last 10 yrs,” she wrote. “be nice to him pls. he really fights for me. Not angry w him . Or anybody really . Jus my own choices.”

SZA continued to explain she carelessly comments without thinking of the repercussions, “I be in the comments of my supporters pages thinking I’m talking freely to 4 ppl lmao I’m not woops lol.”

SZA went on to agree with a fan that a popular snippet leak titled “Shirt” should receive an official release soon.
Regardless, it’s clear consumers are still thirsty for more music from the New Jersey native with “Good Days” surpassing 300 million streams on Spotify.
