Houston, TX – Megan Thee Stallion dropped a bombshell on August 20 when she finally identified Tory Lanez as the triggerman in last month’s shooting incident. The confession prompted an avalanche of reactions on social media from fans and peers alike.
Now, fellow Houston native Bun B has something to say. On Monday (August 24), the UGK legend addressed his one million followers in an Instagram video and made it clear things would’ve turned out a lot differently for the Canadian rapper had the incident happened in Megan’s hometown.
“I tried to be impartial and cool about this, but fuck that man,” Bun says in the clip. “Tory Lanez, and I don’t care if this go viral or none of that shit. I’m from Houston. If somebody would have done something to Megan in this city we would have rolled. Megan in L.A. by herself. It’s just her and T-Farris.
“She ain’t got her mama no more, her mama is gone. Her daddy is gone. Her grandmother is gone. All the people that loved and cared about her unconditionally, that cared about her and would have protected her, ain’t there. So as an OG in Houston, I’m standing up.”

Bun continues, “Tory Lanez did some whore shit, period, Yeah, I know Tory, I know his manager and all them, fuck all that though. Fuck all that. If the man on drugs, get him some goddamn rehab. If the man got mental health issues, get him some therapy.
“But you not gon’ sit here and shoot this girl and we not gon’ say nothing. That shit not real n*gga shit. It’s not. Anytime a man hurts a woman, that’s obsession. That ain’t love. He had no reason to shoot this girl.”
Bun is among the many artists voicing their support for Megan. In the wake of the shooting, Chance The Rapper, T.I., Asian Doll and pop singer JoJo have all come to her defense. Even Wack 100 took on the countless trolls on the internet who were calling Meg a “snitch” for naming Lanez in her confessional Instagram Live video.
Meg revealed was shot on July 12 following an evening out with Lanez and Kylie Jenner. While Lanez has remained mostly mum since then, he recently liked a post from from former NFL running back Larry Johnson who attempted to excuse Lanez’s actions.
He tweeted, “Ladies, if you date a man who coined the term ‘Demon Time,’ and you get shot by him during Demon Hours, be accountable for YOUR stupidity #toreylanez,”
The Los Angeles Police Department is reportedly considering filing felony assault charges against Lanez but so far, he remains charged only with the felony possession of a concealed weapon.
