DaBaby found himself on the defense after he made some comments at Rolling Loud Miami perceived to be homophobic and sexist. The incident made national headlines and drew ire from seemingly countless people, including pop star Dua Lipa and Slut Walk founder Amber Rose.
On Tuesday afternoon (July 27), the Billboard chart-topping rapper either succumbed to pressure, took orders from his PR team or genuinely felt remorse for his words and issued a tweet indicating he was sorry.
“Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset,” he wrote. “what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies. But the LGBT community … I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. y’all business is y’all business.”

But Warner Music Group artist CHIKA, who’s a proud member of the LBGQT community and has since changed her Twitter handle to “DaDiaper,” immediately questioned his statement.
“Then why are you tryna insert yourself into it?” she tweeted in response. “Must be OUR business, huh, Jonny?”
She then dug up a photo of DaBaby performing in a giant diaper and wrote, “DaBaby walked around in a diaper surrounded by n-ggas but wanna speak on…the gays???”
CHIKA continued, “Maybe change your fuckin flow for ONCE and write a song you haven’t written before being a homophobic piece of shit. You are quite literally mediocre in every way. Don’t let that money go to your head, kiddo.”

CHIKA wasn’t close to done there and condemned DaBaby’s fans for making him famous. She also insinuated perhaps he was still in the closet.
“It’s annoying cuz THESE be the n-gga y’all let win,” she added. “THESE ONES. DaBaby’s n-gga left him when he found out bout the recent announcement. That’s why he lashing out. Hurt people.”

DaBaby has a litany of popular songs such as “ROCKSTAR” and “Suge” but according to CHIKA, he couldn’t come up with something unique if he tried.
“He shits himself every time he comes up with an original flow,” she said. “That’s how the diaper remains clean.”

DaBaby originally found himself in hot water after he said during his Rolling Loud set, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up.”
He added, “Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cellphone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
CHIKA wants to know what prompted him to say those things in the first place.
“What straight man randomly used his time in front of thousands of people to take a survey about sucking dick?” she asked. “I just wanna know.”

DaBaby attempted to explain where his head was when he made the comments but wound up doing more damage.
“I wasn’t going on no rant — that’s called a call-to-action,” he said in an Instagram video. “That’s what that’s called because I’m a live performer. I’m the best live performer … you interact with your fans, you get what I’m sayin? Look. All the lights went up — gay or straight. You wanna know why? ‘Cause even my gay fans don’t have fuckin’ AIDS, stupid ass n-ggas.
“They don’t got AIDS. My gay fans, they take care of they selves. They ain’t going for that. They ain’t no nasty gay n-ggas. They ain’t no junkies on the street … my gay fans, they ain’t goin’ for that. They got class, n-gga. They ain’t suckin’ no dick in no parking lot, n-gga.”
